KUCHING: The highly anticipated Vikings Futsal league is expected to kick-start in Miri in March this year with Mukah hosting in June and Kuching in September. “The league to be organised in Miri, Mukah and Kuching is directly affiliated with Vikings Futsal International.Vikings Futsal is unique and different as it has its own system and game play rules which is in line with the World Futsal Association,” informed Vikings Sports Management chief operations officer Awang Zaifulizan Abdul Rahman to The Borneo Post yesterday.
“Vikings Futsal had its own coaching and refreeing course and interested parties can contact us directly to know more about the league. We have already received inquiries by interested teams on the ruling and eligibility for players before the start of the league. Vikings Futsal is strictly for members of the associationand the door is always open for interested clubs and teams to join the league,” revealed Awang Zaifulizan.
Vikings Futsal have around 600 players in the league with six affiliated clubs across the state.
He later praised Football Association Sarawak (FAS) for their efforts to promote football and futsal in the state and added that the presence of Vikings Futsal in the state is merely in an effort to add excitement to the football scene.
